When will I need Soothies® Gel Pads?
Soothies® Gel Pads are recommended for breastfeeding parents who experience cracked, painful, or sore nipples.
How do I use Soothies® Gel Pads?
One Soothies® Gel Pad is used per breast. The gel side of the pad is placed directly on the nipple between feeding or pumping sessions. Each set of pads can be used for up to 72 hours. Don’t use nipple cream and Soothies® Gel Pads at the same time. Do not use more than three weeks. If condition persists, seek the advice of a breastfeeding specialist.
How often should Soothies® Gel Pads be replaced?
Each set of Soothies® pads can be used for up to 72 hours. Use of gel pad therapy should not exceed three weeks. If condition persists, seek the advice of a breastfeeding specialist.
How should the Soothies® Gel Pads be stored when not in use?
Please utilize the storage tray included in the package to place the pads in, between uses. Soothies® Gel Pads may be placed in the refrigerator for additional cooling.
Can Lanolin Nipple Cream be used with Soothies® Gel Pads?
We do not recommend using Lanolin Nipple Cream and Soothies® at the same time. Soothies® should not be combined with other topical remedies. However, you may use lanolin between Soothies® applications. If there is a small amount of lanolin on your breasts while using Soothies®, no need to be alarmed; no reaction will occur with the Soothies® gel and the lanolin.
Can Soothies® Gel Pads be used to help with mastitis?
No, Soothies® are not intended to be used as a treatment for mastitis.
Can Soothies® Gel Pads be heated?
No, it is not advisable to heat Soothies® Gel Pads. Applying a heated gel pad could result in a burn, which could exacerbate any existing soreness or pain.
